About Blockburst
Blockburst is a calm puzzle game about space. You have a nine-by-nine board and three shapes at a time. Put each one wherever it fits. Fill a whole row, a whole column or one of the nine 3×3 boxes and it bursts, clearing room for more. Nothing falls and there is no clock — take as long as you like over every move.
How to play
Drag a shape from the tray onto the board and let go. On a phone the shape lifts above your finger so you can see where it will land; a glowing outline shows the spot, and the lines that would burst light up before you commit. Prefer tapping? Tap a shape, then tap the square where you want it. When all three shapes are placed, three new ones arrive. The game ends when none of your shapes fits anywhere.
Tips
- Keep one big open area. A 3×3 space fits almost every shape; lots of little gaps fit almost none.
- Bursting two or three lines with one shape scores far more than one at a time.
- Bursts on moves close together build a combo — ×2, ×3, ×4 — and a combo survives two quiet moves, so you have time to set up the next one.
- Place the awkward shapes first, while you still have room, and save the small ones for tidying up.
- Clear the whole board for a 300-point bonus.
Levels and bonus cards
Each level asks for a score. Reach it before you run out of room to clear the level, unlock the next one and turn over a bonus card: rotate a shape, swap your shapes for new ones, double points on your next bursts, or extra hints. Later levels deal trickier shapes and start with a few stones already on the board. The Daily board is the same for everybody, every day — how far can you get?
